Hi, I'm Chris Cotton & I Am A Business Coach

I HELP BUSINESS OWNERS MAKE MORE MONEY & GAIN FREEDOM.

I grew up in a small town in southern Oklahoma. My family operated several small businesses, everything from my Granny’s Cafe and Bar (Not under the same roof.) to the lumberyard that my Dad managed. Although I didn’t know it at the time I was in customer service at the age of 5 working in Granny’s cafe washing dishes. (I had to stand on a pickle bucket because I couldn’t yet reach the bottom of the industrial sink.) I also greeted customers, bussed tables and kept the jukebox full of quarters. At the time my favorite song was Rhinestone Cowboy by Glenn Campbell.

I’m sure those people got sick of hearing that song. I rode my bicycle to work every day and spent the few dollars I earned on toys from White’s Auto and ice cream. I was living the dream.

As the years went by I helped out in the bar and the lumberyard, eventually cleaning a few buildings downtown every week in order to earn extra money. I excelled in football, track and even though I didn’t study very much, academics. I eventually went to school at the University of Oklahoma where I got bored and didn’t graduate. Having to find work after quitting college I found myself in the school of hard knocks. This brought me back to Customer Service and running a business.

Fast forward 10 years and along with my lovely wife Kimberly I bought my first business and eventually moved on to coaching others in what I didn’t know that I had learned in business but wished I knew. I paid for my education by doing it wrong again and again then figuring it out and doing it the right way. Fortunately I was able to find a GREAT business coach that was able to kick me in the ass and keep me motivated. (Thanks Brian) Yes, even coaches have coaches.

I was so excited when we bought our first business that I must admit now how unprepared I was. I bought the business not knowing the numbers and the legal way to run a business. The business did over a million dollars in sales and increased in the first year I owned it. Unfortunately that’s not enough. I had the cash flow to keep everyone paid and the business going but if you looked at the bottom line you would see that I was losing 3% net every week, which doesn’t sound like a lot but does show signs of an unhealthy business. In my terms I didn’t know what I didn’t know. If you would like to know how I went from losing 3% net per week to being +25% net then please call or set up an appointment.

I’ve spent approximately 99% of my working life employed by companies that have less than 20 employees. The one time I worked for a big corporate entity that had 100 plus employees I was miserable. I know small business because I am small business. I am “of” the people, the small business people. NOT a large corporate entity.

Fact: 90% of US firms have less than 20 full-time employees and about 96% of firms have fewer than 50 full-time employees.

I provide an experienced, unemotional perspective of your business, one that is not clouded by the day to day clutter of your individual life and experiences. One that is not biased by the excuses you keep telling yourselves daily of why you can’t get things done that you know must be done. I give you a person to be accountable to when as a business owner you don’t have anywhere else to turn. I also am a sounding board to bounce ideas off of, I haven’t heard it all yet but I have heard a lot.

In no way am I trying to portray myself as the end all be all of business but what I do know is that I have a tremendous amount of experience and can make ANY business better.

Business is hard if you don’t know what you don’t know!!

There are a lot of companies that want to sell you the tools so you can do it yourself but you see every day how successful do it yourselfers are,  that’s why I’m here, to hold you accountable to the goals and dreams that we set for your shop and show you step by step how to get it done.

I’m Affordable.

I’m Not Just a Training Company, but a tool you can add to your toolbox for you to use to help you reach your goals and dreams. My goal is to teach you what you didn’t know you didn’t know, and implement these new ideas, so that you can successfully run your shop forever.
