AutoFix is happy to announce that we are expanding our team. Chris Cotton and Tim Shaffer have known each other for many years. They have officially partnered up to serve more auto repair shop owners across the country who can benefit from reliable and resourceful business coaching.
Tim is the owner of Dale’s Service Center in Davenport, Iowa, and he has certainly earned his reputation for offering sound business advice to fellow shop owners. Since 2000, he has studied under a number of business coaches and learned from them all. Back then, he got a glimpse of his future: when he saw what coaches did to help shop owners, he knew he wanted to become a coach one day.
Commented Tim, “now I’m getting the opportunity to help others through auto shop coaching. It’s good to focus on helping others now that I have the experience.” Chris Cotton followed up Tim’s comment by replying, “Running a successful shop, taking care of his family and his employees — especially now — qualifies Tim to be a coach.”
When asked if any shop owners that he’s worked within the past have given any testimonials, Tim says that one stands out. This client recently said, “Thanks, brother, for helping me and allowing me to bounce ideas off of you.” In a recent gesture of gratitude, the guy sent Tim a care package containing some desserts sold in their hometown. “It makes me feel good, and I like it and enjoy it. It makes me feel great when they appreciate my help.”
When asked what makes him feel qualified to help others, Tim claims that “By living it and breathing it, I could have an MBA in the business. I’ve learned what not to do. I’ve also learned how to handle a lot of situations from all the coaching I’ve received. It’s taken several years to get there, but here I am.”
The long term vision for AutoFix includes a team that offers auto shop coaching, marketing consulting, labor consulting, and human resources guidance within the auto repair business. We want to help auto shop owners succeed.
